Get more clients on LinkedIn with less effort: build a system
Oct 27, 2024Have you ever felt like you’re doing everything right on LinkedIn, but something’s missing?
You’ve seen the posts - success stories about hitting £50k months or generating 500 leads in a day. They promise secret strategies, shiny new tactics, and make it all look so easy.
But when you try them, nothing changes. You’re still stuck, putting in the hours, and the leads just aren’t coming in.
You’re not alone. I’ve been there. In fact, most people you see online have been there too.
Systems give you control - and control gives you freedom
The other week, I was hosting an audio event, and someone asked me:
"I’m getting 300+ likes on my posts, but I’m not getting leads for my LinkedIn ghost-writing service. What’s going wrong?"
I’ve heard this question a hundred times before. If you’re doing everything that LinkedIn “gurus” tell you to do - posting, engaging, staying active - but still not getting leads, it’s frustrating, isn’t it?
This is exactly where I was when I started. I spent so much time chasing engagement - trying to get more likes, more comments, more followers - believing that it would eventually lead to business. But it didn’t. And every day I found myself more exhausted, wondering if I’d ever break through.
But then I realised something important. The problem wasn’t with my effort. The problem was that I didn’t have a system.
Likes and comments don’t pay the bills. What does? A repeatable system that moves people from LinkedIn into your world, shows them what you can do, and opens the door to real conversations.
Half the advice online will steal your time
So much of what you see online forces you to spend more time on social media. Post more. Engage more. Hustle harder. It feels like a trap, doesn’t it?
You didn’t start your own business just to swap a 9-5 for 24/7 on LinkedIn. You wanted freedom - the kind of freedom that lets you enjoy your life and your work without being glued to your phone or laptop.
That’s why a system is so powerful. A system lets you step away. You can stop chasing the algorithm, stop obsessing over engagement, and start focusing on what really matters - connecting with the right people, building trust, and closing deals.
The freedom is in the system
Imagine this - you have 20 hours a month to spend on LinkedIn. That’s roughly an hour a day. If you need five clients per month and you can’t achieve that in those 20 hours, something is seriously wrong.
Twenty hours to get five clients. Think about it. What are you doing with that time?
If you’re spending it chasing likes, tweaking your content to go viral, or engaging with people who will never become clients, you’re wasting your time. You’re doing the wrong things.
With a solid system, those 20 hours become laser-focused. You’re no longer wasting energy on vanity metrics. Instead, you’re connecting with the right people, earning their trust, and having meaningful conversations.
Picture this - instead of spending your hour scrolling through posts, you’re talking directly to potential clients. You’re solving their problems. You’re closing deals. And when that hour is up, you can step away from the screen and enjoy your day.
That’s freedom. That’s the life you wanted when you started this journey.
- Ask yourself - if you’re devoting 20 hours a month to LinkedIn, are those hours bringing you closer to getting clients? If not, it’s time to rethink your process. With the right system, you can achieve more in less time.
Stop chasing the hype
When I stopped chasing every “get-rich-quick” strategy, everything changed. Those “500 leads in 24 hours” posts? They rarely tell you the full story. Usually, they’ve spent years building their following before hitting those numbers.
Here’s the thing - systems aren’t sexy. They don’t promise overnight success. They don’t give you that dopamine rush of a viral post. But here’s what they do give you - freedom.
Freedom from chasing trends. Freedom from worrying about the next algorithm change. Freedom to spend your time on what really matters.
No more scrambling for the next big thing. No more wasted time. When you have a system, you’re in control.
Action step: Take a moment to review your LinkedIn activities over the past six months. How many different strategies have you tried? Focus on one that aligns with your goals, commit to it, and perfect it.
Set your goals around key actions, not content
Success on LinkedIn isn’t just about posting content and hoping for the best. It’s about knowing the key actions that lead to conversions and focusing on those.
Here’s what you need:
- Connect with people who need your help.
- Help them know, like, and trust you.
- Show them that you can solve their problem.
- Start real conversations.
This isn’t about waiting for people to come to you, and it’s definitely not about flooding their inbox with cold sales pitches. It’s about building relationships that lead to meaningful conversations. Conversations that turn into clients.
Systems equal freedom
Here’s the truth - you can’t afford to waste time on LinkedIn, hoping for things to happen. And you definitely can’t afford to keep hopping from one shiny new tactic to another.
What you need is a system. A system gives you the freedom to focus on what truly matters. It frees you from the grind of daily posting, the stress of chasing engagement, and the anxiety of wondering if your efforts will pay off.
Imagine this:
You wake up knowing exactly what you need to do to generate leads. No scrambling. No second-guessing. You have a system in place, and it works.
You’re not spending every day glued to LinkedIn, hustling for visibility. You’re building a business that works for you - not the other way around.
That’s what a system gives you. Freedom. Control. Predictability.
- Action step: Take stock of your current approach. Are you relying too much on luck or chasing trends? It’s time to build a system that puts you back in control and frees you from the daily grind.
I know what it feels like to put in the effort and not see the results. It’s frustrating. But the answer isn’t in another shiny new strategy.
The answer is in building a system that you can rely on, and sticking with it, even when progress feels slow.
Stop chasing shortcuts. Build a system. The freedom and results will be worth it.
